Your postcode, and what we do with it

We use it once, to draw your print. Your postcode tells us where to stand. From there we look outward — the villages, the water, the woods, the pubs, the church, the hills — and we arrange what we find into the poster. That is the whole job. Once your print exists, your postcode has done its work.

It never appears on the print. Not on the poster, not on the cushion, not on the tote. We took the decision that a print should say where you belong, not where you live. Your postcode is not on the artwork, and neither is your own street.

We do not use it to advertise to you. We will not build a profile from it. We will not use it to target you, on this site or anywhere else. We do not sell it, we do not rent it, and we do not hand it to advertisers or data brokers. We run no advertising cookies at all.

The prints in our own advertising are not real customers. Every postcode you see in a Pitchabode advert is either our own, or a business address with no home behind it. We never advertise using a stranger’s postcode.

When your order is done, so is your postcode. We keep the postcode you typed for 90 days after your print is dispatched, in case anything arrives damaged and needs remaking. After that it is deleted automatically. The artwork itself carries no postcode, name or address — it is just the place names — and we keep a copy so we can reprint it for you if you ever ask. We keep only the order record the law requires us to — who you are, where it went, what you bought — for six years, for tax.

Who sees it. The postcode you type is used to draw your print and is not passed to our printers — they receive the finished artwork and a delivery address, nothing more. It stays with our admin team, who need it to handle your order.

We never see your card. Payment goes straight to Stripe. Your card number does not pass through Pitchabode, and we could not show it to you if you asked, because we have never had it.

Your details are not sitting on our website. The site itself holds nothing. There are no accounts and no passwords, so there is nothing of yours to sign into and nothing to steal. Order records live in a separate, access-controlled system, encrypted in transit and at rest.

We keep the number of hands small. Pitchabode is a small independent studio. The fewer people who touch your details, the fewer ways they go wrong — so access is limited to those who need it to fulfil your order.

If something ever went wrong, you would hear it from us. We would tell you, and we would tell the ICO within 72 hours, as the law requires.

Ask us and we will show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, or send it to you in a portable form. You can withdraw consent for marketing at any time — there is an unsubscribe link on every email we send.

If you would rather your postcode was not used in anything of ours, tell us and we will take it out. No questions, no form.
